I think part of the reason I enjoyed it is that I didn't re-read the book right before. I read it when it came out, then again before Book 6.
I remembered enough to giggle when Hermione got out the charmed parchment, but then they didn't show anything about that! I agree that a lot was missing and they changed some things, but I liked what they brought to life. I would have sat through a 4 hour movie, but most people wouldn't.
