When you either go out and leave them alone during the day and or at night, never both in the same day.   
When it's 96 degrees and you take the only ice pack in the house, freeze it, and put it under the covering of your dog's bed.  When said dog then chews through the bottom of the bed to see what in there and you calmly check it for holes, and put it back in the freezer because maybe he'll need it later.   
When you order a cooling mat and a cooling collar for him, while you wear a wet towel around your neck.   
When you take them to doggie day care so that you can relax on the beach without feeling totally guilty.   
When you concern yourself with age appropriate toys for the dog that prefers paper over anything else in the word.        |
