I've only owned a Yorkie for three years, but so far the Lab I owned years ago had more health problems. Eddie, knock on wood, has never been sick or injured. Jack came to me with health issues, bad leg, bad teeth, hernia, but he's developed no new problems in the year and a half I've owned him.

I think, as diggy4 said, it's all genetics.
