Ouch, that has to hurt when he bites the doorknob! They have soft covers for them if that would help. But, he might get it off and chew it.

I got one of those fingertip toothbrushes for Jake because he would fight a toothbrush. The fingertip one works great because he doesn't mind my finger in his mouth and actually is so used to it now that he sits pretty still. I can do a pretty thorough job with it. You can get them at any pet supply store, and I think I've even seen them at Walmart and some grocery stores.
