I use cloth baby diapers. I put a waterproof crib mattress pad below them. The mattress pads should not be dried, they don't hold up in laundry as well as the diapers. I change them every 2 days, and that's for 2 dogs, but they go potty outside too. They only go on the diapers while I"m at work. They shrunk a little but they are holding up well with me washing them in bleach once a week. I keep the soiled ones in a trash can with a lid until laundry time. I have thought about sewing 2 of them together or buying the ones from valethics.com, but for now, it's working out very well. Good Luck, it's been a lifesaver for me.
