Jennyj45 .... our Toto does that also! She is deprived of certain socialization ... other dogs for example! We have a very quiet lifestyle and she shivers when she is excited, stressed, etc. She loves people and always shivers at first, but after a few minutes she is all over them! It isn't fair, I know, for them not to be exposed to other animals, but we don't know what to do about it! We don't know people who have pets except big, spoiled, moody cats!! We also never argue or speak in angry voices in our house so naturally she gets upset if she hears that somewhere ... i.e. ... on a flight recently, there was an angry drunk man across the isle from us and when he spoke in a loud angry voice, it made Toto cry! I felt so sorry for her ... she had to stay in her carrier under the seat but I could hear her crying her soft little baby cry and it broke my heart! I felt like punching him in the mouth!! I wanted to cheer when two big Denver policeman came on the plane and arrested him! That's probably why your little Diva does it ... not being used to loud noises, etc. Toto is as healthy as she can be so we know it's not a health problem! If you get any good solutions, please let me know!
