LOL are you serious ?? I think you took my comment ALL wrong.
I love my girls just as much as my kids - but my comment was meant nicely... The person I replied to COMPARED her son to her dog. I wasn't being rude or as you said 'dumbing it down'.
and yes - it is up to US to figure out the extent of pain because yes - a child CAN Tell us what hurts.
