[QUOTE=tammy8833;1210027]

and i do believe that good breeders breed mixes just like they did 100 years ago to get our cute little yorkies. SO people do experient to get the best traits from 2 dogs or more, like in the yorkie to get that standard that might be recongnized by akc one day. there is a consistentcy to breeding mixes if you are going in the right direction and doing it to perfect a future breed. other then the amount of people doing the mixing wants different from 100 years ago of making the yorkie?

I think it would be a good idea for you to do a little research to how the purebreds of today came about. There was a lot of thought work and dedication of true dog fanciers involved. You might want to find out exactly what it takes to get a new breed recognized by the AKC, what's happening in the designer breeding isn't it.
In my opinion, which I can express, the designer breeders of today are not looking for the best traits of anything, they are looking for pups to produce to sell sometimes at very inflated prices as 'rare' giving a cute desingner breed name which means nothing.
Which is up to them, I just don't like seeing buyers misled.
