Sometimes they quit all together but unfortunately Otis didn't. Although it did decrease significantly. I use potty pads so I have 2 "hiking posts" in their potty pad room. He does sometimes mark. I think if you contain them while your away, either gated in the kitchen or bath, that would help a lot. He doesn't do it while I'm home!! Good luck. Have you thought about belly bands until he's neutered? My boys wear them when we go to visit other peoples homes just so in case they smell something interesting.
