good luck with the chorkie hunt!!! |
The sell and high demand of designer pups is only because people are misled aobut them. Many many of them end up in rescues, shelter and put down because of health problems, can't handle them problems, sold without any recourse problems, behaviour problems of the mix.
Did you know the current rage of puggles is aobut the worst mix for temperment you can get? Labradoodles and goldendoodles are not all hypoallergenic and will shed and need clipping all at the same time. Any mix has the potential of inheriting any of the health problems of any of the purebreds that make up that mix. Genes have no idea if they are in a purebred or a mixbreed. Sure there will be exceptions but don't get misled by claims.
As a groomer, and the other poster on this thread who is also a groomer can likely verify, grooming a mix is usually a nightmare. The mix of the coat types can be really hard to manage in the coated mixes. They can be hard to even cut/clip with having one heck of a hard time getting the clippers through a coat even one relatively often brought in for professional grooming.
Give me a good quality pet purebred to groom anytime.
Pay big bucks for mutt aka designer dog if you want to but at least be fully aware of what you are buying and getting into and don't fall for the lies many of the breeders of these dogs tell you.
