Is Buddy ever nippy with you???

Instead of muzzling, would the groomer let you stay and keep him under control?

Kirby snapped at the vet once, and from there on out he had to be muzzled. He got more and more vicious and nasty every time we went. I knew I could control him though.

Finally, I asked them if we could pleeeeeeeese try it my way. The agreed, reluctantly.

I bent down to pick him up and he snapped and growled at me, hair up and everything. I knew he wasn't about to bite me (and quite frankly, didn't care if he did, I didn't like the way he was reacting to being muzzled and wanted to make things better). Anyway, I just held my ground, picked him up and put him on the table. Then I held onto him while she did her thing.

It seemed to work, he didn't snap anymore, and he was much calmer when we left that in the past.

I really think the muzzle just increased his aggression.

Just a thought, Buddy's such a young guy, I'd hate to see this one time thing become the catalyst for muzzle induced aggression.
