Boiling is NOT the same as distilled. The minerals are not only still present in boiled water, but after boiling they are more concentrated than ever due to evaporation! Try the distilled, it's 68 cents a gallon at Walmart!
My two go through about a gallon every two weeks, but I use water bottles, so there's no waste.
