I am so sorry about this. My vet has used forceps one time and it was my rat terrier,she had 3 BIG pups and 2 came out fine then she stalled,took her to the vet and a oxy shot was given he tried massaging her to the back and got her in the canal and could not get her any further,he did use forceps and got her out VERY GENTLY and she made it.You cannot use them unless they are in the canal.These were very large pups though not a tiny yorkie.He does not like to use them and we thought we would loose the last pup but did not.
Again he was very careful and the pup was breech,he did not just go in and grab what he could and pull.
I am so sorry again for your loss.I do feel he should not of done that without knowing or being able to feel the puppy and what way it was coming.Hope all is well with the mommy and I do hope he treated her with antibiotics after going inside with the forceps? |
