I have heard this too but this was not the case with bailey. Bailey was less than a half pound at 12 weeks and she stayed around a half pound until about 5 months. Then out of nowhere she gained a full pound... in about a period of 1 month! Now she is 1.9 lbs. I guess it just depends on the dog.
