I already sent this on to Diggy4
We just got back from dropping Cody off at the animal hospital that adopted him out to us (they are also a rescue). His stomach was becoming more and more distended and the only thing we could figure is that even though he was still eating protein, the medications he was on was giving him energy. He was still getting shakier and shakier (probably from the protein) No, a BAT has not been done, it's just that with the symptoms he was having and with the enzymes, the animal hospital was very convinced it was his liver. They have blocked off a time for surgery tomorrow if it does turn out to be an operable liver shunt and will update us tomorrow on whether or not they operated. I know it might seem kind of weird to have jumped to all of this without test results but the symptoms were so clear.
I'll let you all know how Cody is tomorrow... I'm just glad he's getting help because last night with the way he looked, we didn't think he'd be alive this morning
