I've never had a male, but I've heard early spaying and neutering is more advantagous than disadvantagous (esp. neutering). My new kitten was spayed at 4months (breeder normally does it earlier - around 12 weeks or 2lbs). If I had a male, I'd neuter him as early as I could. Since yours is so little, I might wait for him to get just a little bigger though. The best thing is to ask your vet though and see what he is comfortable doing. I think the earlier the better (as early as you can be safe anyway).
