Ok, so Lexie is getting spayed tomorrow. She's 8 months old and roughly 3 1/2 lbs. I know there are tons of benefits to spaying her, but I'm concerned about risks. My stomach is in knots and I'm trying not to let it show b/c I don't want Lexie to end up picking up on my personal freaking out. I need you guys' sage wisdom since many of you have been through this. I have a few questions.

1) Will her personality change? She's so playful and affectionate, just all around good hearted. I'd hate to lose that

2) I'm concerned about anesthesia. Sometimes people don't deal well with it, what about dogs? I've seen people end up with alzheimer's like symptoms. The vet says he uses gas, normally with these small babies

3) Healing time. What can I expect?

I'm asking you guys and of course have spoken to the vet. Your answers have more weight with me since you live with yorkies and like I said, many of you have been there. Thanks for being here.
