Tami, No you don't have to have her AKC registered before a puppy match. You can even show her under regular classes under her puppy registration, I think for 3 shows. But, it doesn't take long to get her registration back. I sent Tahlulah's out a 2 weeks before she was registered in her 1st show and got it back in a week.
