The last few days they have been saying on the news that the weather is too bad in Florida for the shuttle to land there and they may land in California so when I heard/felt the "Boom" I knew it had to be it. I turned on the TV and sure enough that's what it was!
The Space Shuttle and several military planes flies faster than the speed of sound. When they break the sound barrier it creates a sound wave that we can hear and feel.
Amazing isn't it?
