there are lots of good shampoo and conditioners out there. I have used so darn many of them trying to find one that will work good with the different types of hair that my 4 have. I think I have settled with coat handler or #1 all systems. those 2 being my favorite.
#1 all systems is the one I am kind of stuck on. It is fresh smelling and they stay clean longer, which means less tangles too. Rinsing is cut in half also. (it rinses really fast).
with both the #1 all systems and the coat handler unless you have some really tight tangles you dont' need to brush before hand.
