It might not be okay...a lot of times, the mother bird will abandon her fallen baby if it has the human scent. She won't even know its hers, especially if its accidentaly put in the wrong nest.
Try doing what Kelly353 suggested, or you could take care of it yourself, its not as hard as you probably think. Just buy baby bird food for a few dollars at the pet store, an syringe feed him 3-5 times a day depending on how old it is. Sometimes they make it, sometimes they don't but if the momma bird doesn't show up in a few hours, she probably never will...
