Yeah, three days is not long enough for your pup to adjust. As for the crying in the kennel, the biggest thing you need to remember is that you MUST ignore him until he is quiet for at least a full minute (as he gets older, you should work up to a 5 or 10-minute rule). He's in a new house and all these new people. He's probably scared to death that every time you walk out of that room he's being abandoned.
You might want to keep the kennel in your bedroom for a week or two. When he cries you can stick your fingers in the kennel to calm him, but don't do this excessively. Never open the kennel when he's barking or crying, as this will teach him that making noise gets him freedom.
