Max is DKC, which I never heard of and I'm cerrtainly not wasting my money on that paperwork. I did a check on the pet store he comes from and, no matter what, all of their dogs are DKC, regardless of whether they're AKC or not. It makes no sense to me, but I never looked into it. They sell puppy mil dogs, and that's that.
If he was AKC, I would register him. I have had other AKC dogs, and they were registered because it's another dog on the plus side - in other words - meets the breed standards. It has nothing to do with loving Max. I wouldn't trade him for 10 champion bred AKC Yorkies.
I think somehow it has to do with fighting for purity of a breed, which then trickles down to helping to do away with puppy mills, scams, and other dishonest breeding practices. |
