Do you have any kind of bill of sale from the breeder indicating that you were receiving an AKC registered puppy?

If so, I would make a copy of that paper, and do this:

Write a letter indicating that per the conditions of the sale of said puppy, you were to receive AKC registration papers. Supply the copy of the bill of sale, and state that you are giving her 30 days to fulfill her end of the agreement, and that if she does not comply with those terms, you will sue her for breach of contract and will report her to the AKC.

Hopefully, that will do the trick.

Now, if she does not comply, and you want to sue, you have to show that you have suffered a monetary loss due to her failure to provide the papers. In which case, your best bet would be to say that you purchased the puppy for breeding purposes. If it states that in the bill of sale, you'll do better in court. However, if the bill of sale states that the puppy was sold as pet only, you will have a tough time convincing the judge that you have suffered any loss. You could provide proof of the differences in the going rates for akc registered puppies vs. non-akc registered puppies, but it would be a crap shoot.

Hope this helps,
