It is not my place to question anything you say or have done, but it seems to me that if you had to leave is such a hurry and he broke your neck , I would not go back to his house and visit my dogs every other night. I have been in a bad relationship before , and I know the choices that have to be made. Seems to me that there is probably more to the story but we do not need to hear it. Ask him for the dogs, offer to buy them or talk to an attorney, if he could hurt you he can hurt the dogs. Not to mention the 6 kids, or your son for that matter. Scary!!!!
