Hi Elaine. So sorry, you are going through that. Eleven years ago when we bought our home we had a N. Easterner. Our home at the time was about 20 years old and the basement NEVER flooded in all that time. We had been in our home oh about a month or so and guess what flooded. You got it the basement. Because it never flooded we had it all done over into a big family room and lost everything. Insurance didn't cover it. Again, sorry you are going through all this expense. Did you have the home inspected by a certified home inspector? If you did and he did not disclose all of this, you may be able to hold him responsible. He should be insured for that. I live in NJ and I know when we bought our home, we had a private home inspector come and inspect and tell us anything needed to be done, problems etc. We did all right but had there been something he missed and it happened within the year we could have went after him for the repair. Not sure how it works in PA. Just a thought though. Hope it all works out for you. Elaine B. |
