When my oldest son was around 2, we were in the parking lot by our garage in our then apartment building...
The car was running for some reason - I can't even remember why now... but my son got in and shifted it into reverse. We saw the car slowly backing down the short drive and we tried to get to it but couldn't. It (with my son at the wheel) went down the drive, across the street and smashed into the fence of the school yard.
I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I was crying as I scooped up my boy...
Then I saw the fence...
Well, we talked to the folks at the school and they didn't charge us or make us replace it or anything....
Man, how do we parents make it through their childhoods???
