I think if she is sucking and her belly looks full then she must be getting the cholestrum (sp)

When my pups were first born, they ate a lot, most of the time they fell asleep attached.

You can also call your vet for advice, at least I did.. they didn't seem to mind. If your vet won't help you on the phone, then call another, usually the vet techs can answer questions, and can ask you questions to decide if a vet visit is in order.

I don't want to bring in my pups unless nec. to the vets, since most animals there at the vets are sick.

Good luck with the baby, make sure mom eats well, and has water at all times.
