Question My Yorkie is eating wood splinters/chips

Hello Everyone!

I was wondering if any of your babies eat wood or chew on sticks? Is this normal? Tinkerbell got into some wood last weekend and I have discovered wood in her stool. I thought we had resolved the problem since cleaning up the area around our wood burning stove. However, yesterday I found Tinkie's hiding place for stuff she isn't supposed to have. She had a little nest like place behind a bookshelf that consisted of: pennies, dried apples (I did let her have those for her teeth..ha ha) some plastic army guys, (son's toys) my sock, and what do you know...wood chips! She has been nawing on them all week!

I thought I had puppy safed the entire house and I come upon this nest of stuff! She is absolutely a pill!

Is she lacking in some kind of vitamin that she would want to chew on wood and eat it?

Thank-you for helping out with this, I am at my wits end!

Annie and Tinkie
