If you are going to train her on a potty pad, I would do 2 things.
1. I would enclose the "potty" area with an x-pen or something else. I would take her there every hour on the hour or every 1/2 hour depending on her potty needs, and close her in there and continue to repeat the "go potty" mantra until she does go.
2. I would spray her potty pads with spray that stimulates the puppy to go pee.
If you are taking her outside I would:
1. Also spray the grass area where you want her to go with the stimulation spray, too.
2. Put her on a leash and keep repeating the "go potty" mantra and don't wander too far from the potty sprayed area. And stay there until she goes potty.
or 3. x-pen the area outside you want her to go, spray it and put her in there and she does not come out until she goes.
You must be in attendance no matter which method you use. Don't leave her in the x-pen unattended, because you need to be there the 2nd she goes potty, so that you can praise and reward her. |
