Okay so after hours and hours of exhaustive studying (I'm a student), I drove approximately 45 minutes to her place, where she is living with her sister.

When I arrive, she complimented Buttercup A LOT and how nice his hair looks, how silky it is, and how he looks much better in person. Then she started talking about how her other friend who fostered her dogs for 2 weeks abused them and they were infested with fleas so that caused their hair to fall off, etc. When I had enough, I asked her where her dogs were (Yorkie, Maltese, and Papillon). When she told me they were in the restroom, I asked if I could take them out. Her reply was 'I don't think you want to because they stink really bad. I haven't taken a bath for them for 3 weeks'

I thought she was joking. When I walked down the hall towards the restroom, about 10 feet away was when I smelled the stinch. When I entered was a whole different story. SHE KEEPS ALL THREE IN A KENNEL that is about the 16x4. She doesn't let them out the pee, to poop, (saying that it was too much of a hassle) lets just say she doesn't let them out at all. NO WONDER WHY THEY STINK!

I offered to clean and bathe the dogs for her, comb all the mats out and clean out the kennel. What I found out when I bathing each was that they were all malnourished. You can actually see their BONES! I asked if she feeds them and she said only once a day. So I fed them and they ate like they never ate their whole entire lives. The dogs were so happy to be out of that kennel and she wondered why they were so hyper!

I offered to take both the maltese and yorkie (although they were bald and nasty looking) and then she tells me they all have ringworms and one have heartworms. I left without them and can tell that they were sad that I left. I didn't take them with me because I feared that Buttercup would catch whatever they had and worms might not be the only thing they have.
I read this whole thread, and I just want to say Thank you for what you have done. Its so easy for everyone to say what you should do.Because they are not in your shoes. I have took in many rescues and I know how hard it can be some times. Not to mention bringing these animals into your home and not knowing what all they have and hoping that your own pets dont get any thing. and then having to spend your own money on someone elses animals just so they can have a better life and a chance, I do agree that the maltese needs to find a new home too, But what you have already done shows you have a good heart. I still have 10 animals at my home that I took in and that needs homes. Its some times hard to rehome them and once you have took them in you are then stuck with them , So yes its a lot to take on. I hope and pray that all three of them find a forevere home as I do for the ones I have.
