You definitely are doing what you can do -- much to the betterment of these animals. But it should not be to your detriment either.
Take a deep breath. Assess the situation. (Do the dogs have ringworm? Is the Maltese the heartworm patient? What are their immediate needs -- beyond food and water -- and what needs to be done for those? Will she surrender the Maltese willingly?) Starting to ask and answer these questions will invariably create more questions. Start making a game plan.
