I feel your pain. My Teddy is 8 1/2 months old and I am home 24/7 (I take care of my hubby's 92 yr old mom who has Alzheimers) and I know when he needs to go potty. I take him out to do his thing BUT if I happen to be busy with my mother-in-law, he will go where he darn well pleases. So, like you, I have tried everything and I do not consider him housebroken. I just happen to know when he needs to go and take him out before that time.
It is VERY frustrating to work sooooo hard at potty training him and it just hasn't happened. I don't know what else to do but catch him before he goes in the house.
And of course I am a bugger for punishment as I just got a 4 month old little girl. No, she is not housebroken either so I am working on both of them. The one good thing with 2 is that they will stay out longer together but after dark is the worst as I do not let them out.
I know what I have said is no help at all but just know you are certainly not alone in this. I have had dogs all of my life and I do believe yorkies are the hardest to housebreak. But they are sooooo loving, loyal and I just can't imagine my life without them. |
