Baking makes them sort of chewy, especially when I cut the stuff in strips and bake them. If I overcook them, then they're kind of crunchy in a gross smelly way. The food really is yucky anyways. I put them on a nonstick cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven until I see them start to brown, if you want to call it that. Takes about a half hour, maybe a little longer to really dry out. If you undercook it, it is soft and gooey but when in the end when everything really cools off, they become chewy anyways. I wouldn't eat that on a bet

But whatever is in that food is keeping Ralphie's PH levels on target. As soon as I alter the diet, like I said, he puts on a little weight and his PH starts to fall below 6.5 and he could form the oxalate stones. I have read so many varying opinions as far as the proper diet but since I'm not a doctor, I rely mostly on my vet for guidance. He laughs at me when I tell him what I really think of the food. He agrees and says he'd never eat it either.
