I mean, who needs unconditional love when you can sit at home in a fancy outfit watching tv! I bet with the leftover change you could get a mirror to admire yourself in! How awesome is that!
Well said Val! To me it's a no-brainer!! And like someone else said, What will your neighbor have to show for her $1000 in 5 years?? Nada! Except for something she's ready to replace, has outgrown, or will sell in a yard sale!

My neighbor turned up her nose at Bo (in my house!) and said she wished every morning when she let her Westie out that the dog would just take off and never come back!!! I was horribly offended by that and it wasn't even my dog. I said "Oh no, don't ever say that! Your dog is 14 years old and has been a part of your family, is in great health and still looks great!" Well, she did back down after that but she didn't change her opinion. She wouldn't even pet Bo. People really don't get it and frankly I don't get why they don't get it!!

I like the reply Ssgussy gave that you can't put a price on a family member and also Kim's reply that just gives a price range. Seems to me sometimes when people talk money they are only lookin for something to criticize. If she's a close friend then try to bring the friendship back to where it was. She's probably jealous that you have so much in common with the other neighbor now.
