I'm thinking maybe it only takes one major scare for them to learn. I say that because Sukoshi fell/jumped (we're not sure which) off the back of our loveseat when she was about 3.5 months old, and she yelled like I have never heard in my life and wouldn't walk on her front right paw. We rushed her to the emergency room (of course it was midnight on a Saturday evening...they can't ever do these things during normal vet hours), and after waiting in the ER forever for our turn, she'd finally quieted down and started walking again. We determined that nothing was broken, and that if it was just a strain/sprain, then there wasn't much they could do for us anyway, and we left. By the next morning, she was running like nothing had ever happened - she was just a drama queen with all the yelling. BUT...Sukoshi doesn't jump off ANYTHING now! She just stares looking at the ground until we put her down. So...maybe it only takes once?! Good luck! |
