I feel your neighbor was rude for even asking!! I don't go around asking them what they paid for their new diamond ring, or their new car or anything for that matter!!! I have clients of mine who asked me how much Luig was and I tell them --Enough!!! They usually just laigh!! But I hate when people ask how much!!! Its no ones business but ours!!! I was raised to not ask people about money and I wish more people were the same way!!! So- you reacted just fine!!! But next time someone asks you that question- just say Enough!!! Or if you really want to stir things up -- ask them how much their ring or necklace was!!! That will make them get the point!!!!
