I am not going to defend the groomer but I am going to defend groomers as a whole . A lot of people bring dogs in in such a mess that there is no alternative but to shave them off. That means under the matting and sometimes this has to be very close. good work to take care of your beloved pets. Again I am sorry your dog is not feeling well I do hope in a day or two when the hair starts growing back that she gets back to normal.
I had an experience with Lexie when I first got her. The groomer shaved her completely bald- she was a baby only about 3lbs at the time and we were heading into winter. I was livid- she NEVER called and told me she felt she needed to shave her- Lex was NOT badley matted!! I understand what you are saying as far as sometimes they do not have a choice but to shave them. I feel it is very much up to the groomer to make that VERY clear to the owner. You can avoid a lot of problems by simply communicating.
