It's razor burns as I described previously. I'm sure they are stinging her. They're purple and irritated looking between her legs, on her neck, behind her ears, and her fanny!
As far as internal injuries, that was my first thought. The vet did not seem to think so. She walks and sits sideways, like she's drunk. The groomer did not do any flea treatment to her. And do I think she ingested something? No, but that also crossed my mind. This has gone on too long and Ralphie, after neutering and stone surgery, was livelier by now and he had some serious stuff going on. I have 2 other chi's and after their spaying and neutering, were up and about within 2 days. My daughter asked me today if I think Keisha is seriously ill, like "dying" ill. I really don't think so at all. She's a healthy dog, just traumatized by the shaving ordeal. I honestly believe by tomorrow she should snap back to herself, I hope. If not, it's back to the vet.[/QUOTE]
That walk is the walk of the tickle, the more she walks the more she will get used to that feeling, she is going to be just fine soon. The drunk walk is a very good may of describing it, I have seen it many times. If I shave a matted dog I always tell the owners about it. Good thing it only last a few days. As far as the clipper burns go they are caused by shaving to close and it may be that the mats were so tight to the skin that is the only way she could get under them, like the other groomer said she had to shave a dog the other day with a 40 blade ( that is a surgical blade). You will find that if you put a bit of baby powder on the irritated area it will feel better soon. That is what the show poodle people will use on the white poodles when their skin is irritated from shaving the face so short. I hope this helps. |
