I think that we all seem to hear the same questions.... since Shelby & Seymour are on the "Teapot" side, I hear a little bit different story.
I will hear .... "Are they Yorkies"?? "My friend has one but it is one of those expensive teacups"........ Yep, that will tick me off! I don't even respond to that one anymore. My husband said that he got sick of hearing "the speech"!
I explained about teacups to one person a few weeks ago at the campground (this was on the Friday that we got to the campground)...... just before we left (2 days after she was asking all the questions), she told us she found a puppy and they were going to pick up her "teacup" on their way home..... it was 9 weeks old. OMG..
If someone don't understand enough about the breed to research and know the deal about "teacups" than they get what they get. ( a LOT of the internet breeders will advertise teacups and charge an arm & a leg for them, just because they are small. The fact that they could have terrible bloodlines or passed along health issues aren't even considered.)
It is really hard to try to educate people who want a "little purse dog" but don't have any idea about liver shunt, hypoglycemia, collapsing tracheas, small dog/anesthesia...... and they don't want to.
Don't worry, I don't plan on giving up telling people about Yorkies.... but their are some idiots out their....... most of the time you can tell who they are!!!! (those are the ones that I don't waste my breath on!

)
OH!!.. I will always tell people what I paid for the dogs. Then maybe they will do a little more research before going out and buying one.
