Good point, I forgot to mention that I don't feed any of those foods anymore...I have a special homecooked diet that I make for my liver compromised dog.
If it's MVD, an operation won't fix the problem because MVD is not repairable through surgery, it's managed through diet, lactulose, and supplements. An extrahepatic shunt CAN be fixed through surgery though.
