I had a toy poodle who did just that each time she went out...she came in with that random outdoor smell....
It would last about 30 min..till she aired out a bit...lol
Kind of like it clings in their coat!!
But...I never liked my laundry hung outside either...lol I love the fresh "downy" smell from my dryer...
