I picked up the top item & there it was just as still as can be on the second item!
So, I grabbed a glass, threw it on top and later my fiance went and took the item out from under it & left the cup on top & put the box outside in the shed. That's when it started moving and we found out it actually was alive (which, of course, almost killed me lol).

But when the box was packed it was most likely not there. a roach would have run out if it were disturbed. it was probably beneath the flaps at the time and not noticeable. Or it could have gotten in somewhere along the line.
There is no way that bug would have stayed there in the box when she was packing it.
Take some spray and spray it or take a shoe and squash it. I would not take the chance of it getting out of where ever you have it.
