  That is so sad; it is hard to hear that.  I saw once how dogs that are in pain will not show it for their masters.  They had a video of a dog that was in pain, and when the master came to the cage, the dog got up and acted very normal.  I remember when our little Yorkie was a baby and was very ill (we had her three weeks, and she had kidney failure).  Our vet said that we may need to put her down, and we asked if we could come and see her.  She was so sick, but she got right up and wagged her little stubby tail.  We were sobbing, and the vet right then desided that we needed to try to keep her alive.  She is nearly six now!!
