Uma is one who could not use a retractable leash, particularly on a walk. She loves smaller dogs, but for some reason is very aggressive towards larger breeds. At a rest stop a gentleman with a very large Rott Lab mix came up behind us and she went nuts! Growling and lunging . She does this every time she sees a big dog. My neighbors have 2 Siberien Huskies....I can not even take her on the road in front of their house! She wants to hurt them I think? She pulls so hard on the leash she actually is walking on her hind legs and Growling and barking. I sure hope she out grows this behavior, it is scary.
