When that happens to my neck or back, I take a presciption dose of ibuprofen (800 mg = 4 tablets) and then lay down and try to go to sleep. That way you are in a relaxed position and it allows the ibuprofen to work better. You can take 800 mg every 8 hours and I do that till the kink is gone. If not gone in 3 days, then medical intervention may be in order (or massage or chiropractic or something like that).
