I'm surprised that your vet suggested ice cream. The dairy can make his stomach upset and can also cause diarrhea. I suggest Rebound. It is a liquid diet made for dogs who have had surgery but I use it for Lily as well. I love this product! From the box: "Canine Rebound Liquid diet was designed to provide nutritional support for recovering dogs. It provides 100% of the protein, fat, calories and fiber a recovering dog requires."

I get mine from the vet but I have been told that wal-mart sells a very similar product in the pet food aisle.

I hope that you're able to get something down him soon. Poor Baby. Prayers for you and Mickey

Forgot to add that dogs LOVE Rebound and will usually still lap it up even when they won't eat.
