Makes you want to slap those people around who would even CONSIDER doing such a horrible thing, doesn't it?! Never fails to amaze me how something good can be perverted to a lowly use, even an item as mundane as an ID tag!
As someone who would have loved to have had some of that information while trying to reunite a wayward Yorkie with his humans a few weeks ago, these are the kinds of reports that unfortunately will discourage people from putting tags on their dogs.
Definitely at least include a name and phone number!
I was lucky because I was actively looking for the little guy's owners and found them within a few hours. I know a lot of times you hear about dogs being returned day or weeks later, if at all.
