Hello Steve,
I as well have always had pugs (still have one - six yrs old black pug) and my kids are 7 and 4.
My pugs and other dogs have all been boys. Autumn is my first Yorkie (girl) and I must say that I am enjoying having a girl dog this time around. There is no marking of territory and I find that for the most part the girls seem to be alittle bit smaller then the boys (usually anyway.) good luck and let us know what happens.
