You can put the diaper on her if you want to prevent her from peeing on the carpet but it won't train her. I have had few dogs that did this and they do outgrow it but you really have to ignore them when they are excited.
My cocker spaniel was really bad at this. Everytime someone would come over she would get so excited and roll over on her back for them to rub and her belly and then she would pee all over self. So I had everyone who came over ignore her for the first 15 minutes so she would calm down and finally be able to be petted in a calm matter. She did outgrow it and hasn't had any problems for years.
I hope this helps, good luck with your girl!!
i am going to have to try that but my problem is quite different...it is probably on the more submissive urination side....but she could be running around outside playing and when it is time to come in...either I or one of my sisters would call her and she would hutch down and walks towards us kinda in a squatting position and pees all the way..or if we approach her she will get in that same position and starts peeing everywhere...she is turning 2 in June and still does this..it's very frustrating since I will be closing on my new house here on Friday..
